UP GROCERY ANNOUNCES ADJUSTMENT OF HOURS RELATED TO THE CORONAVIRUS

Effective March 19, Member Share Grocery Program hours at our three UP Centers located in Orlando, Indian River County and St. Lucie County will transition to be Monday - Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., with our Orlando and St. Lucie County locations also operating Sundays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. To streamline our operations to focus on the increased need at our main Indian River UP Center, our satellite grocery program located in South Vero Beach will close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.

As we continue to focus on serving the community during this increased time of need, our programs remain available to low-income families.

In stressful situations, many of our neighbors turn to United Against Poverty for information, direction and reassurance. Now more than ever, we are deeply grateful for your support.

Partner Highlight: WellCare

WellCare is a Medicare Advantage Plan, providing health insurance to individuals with Medicare, and they have been a loyal sponsor of UP Orlando for many years. For the last five years, Mario Martinez has been representing WellCare on the UP Orlando campus.

Mario is originally from El Salvador. He moved to the US in 1990, and has lived in Florida with his wife and six children since 2004. Mario has more than 10 years of experience working with Medicare. He took a job with WellCare in 2014 and was assigned to the UP Orlando campus.

Since taking over the WellCare booth located in our Member Share Grocery Program at UP Orlando, Mario has become a staple of the campus and has built a strong relationship with the staff and members who come to visit. He is available three days a week to discuss Medicare qualifications and WellCare benefits with our members and can be found in our Community Corner sponsored by WellCare. We are very grateful for the sponsorship from WellCare, and the work that Mario does on campus.
