Hopeful Harvest Thanksgiving Event
Hopeful Harvest is one of UP Orlando’s signature Hand Up events, where our income-verified Gold Card Member Share Grocery Program members can sign up to receive a full Thanksgiving meal (turkey included!) for a small $5 fee. This event is meant to give our members a dignified Thanksgiving dinner that can be prepared in their own home with their families. Hopeful Harvest always takes place the Monday before Thanksgiving and sign ups for the event tend to begin in early- to mid-September. The general public can help with this event by donating non-perishable Thanksgiving items listed below:
- Boxed mashed potatoes
- Dry gravy mix
- Canned green beans
- Canned yams/sweet potatoes/pumpkin
- Boxed stuffing mix
- Canned cranberry sauce
- Boxed cornbread mix
- Premade pie crust
Donations can be dropped off at the UP Orlando campus during regular
MSGP hours at the welcome desk, or at the
Orlando Southern Women’s Show for $8 off your ticket price. Volunteers are also needed on the day of the event. Please contact Monique Stewart at Monique@upcenters.org for more information on how to get involved.
